SUMMER FLOUNDER

(Paralichthys Dentatus)

Other names: Fluke, Hirame

A popular flatfish both in the United States and overseas, Summer Flounder, or Fluke, is found in the Western Atlantic from Maine to South Carolina.  Despite its seasonal name, Summer Flounder may be harvested year round although they do migrate to deeper waters during the winter months.

Summer Flounder is similar to Winter Flounder in both flavor and appearance, however, it is considerably larger in size, averaging 3-6 lbs           ( 1.3 -2.7 kg.).

Our fresh Summer Flounder is caught by trawling vessels and is sold in its whole form.    We ship to wholesalers in both the U.S. and the Far East.

Summer Flounder is a government regulated species, therefore, availability may be limited as the quota is filled.  Please contact us for more information.
