Seasonal Fresh Fish

TUNA

Unloading Swordfish and Tuna from a long line vessel:

Deep Sea Fish is proud to host a fleet of East Coast long line vessels who risk their lives following tuna and swordfish as they migrate throughout the Western Atlantic Ocean.   Every summer and fall,  these vessels come to our facility to offload their catch.    We unload each fish by hand  and transport them from the vessels into our facility with the utmost care.  Each fish is then individually examined before it is ready to be sold.

Inspecting and Grading a Yellowfin Tuna:

Quality is based upon a variety of factors including fat content and color.  Each tuna is carefully examined by experienced tuna graders to ensure it meets our high standards.  Our tuna are 100% natural - they are never treated with C02 or other methods of altering the appearance of the fish.    Our tuna are exported to Japan where they are sold at auction at the world famous Tsukiji market or they are sold to upscale wholesalers and restaurants here in the United States.
